Memorial Day Weekend

Every year for Memorial Day weekend, my family usually gets together at my aunt's house in New Jersey for a mini family reunion.  This year, we'll be having a real family reunion in Cancun later this summer, so our annual New Jersey trip was cancelled.  Being the person that I am, I couldn't just sit around and do nothing for Memorial Day, so I took my family to Virginia Beach for the weekend.  We had just come home from Orlando, but Darren amiably agreed to make the 3.5-hour drive to the beach anyway.  We had a great time! Even my sister's family and my parents came along...it couldn't have been better!

Preschool Picnic

The kids’ preschool had its annual picnic today.  The weather was cold and drizzly—in other words: yuck.  But it was nice seeing the other preschool families and their teachers.  Afterwards, we tried to go walk around the mall, but everyone just wanted to go home and pass out.

Christmastime is here

Christmastime is my favorite time of year, however I've been incredibly busy with work these past few weeks.  This weekend, I'm making it a point to do some traditional Christmas activities with my girls.  We're baking, decorating, and spending some quality time together...and tomorrow--The Nutcracker Ballet!

Gifts arrived from my talented cousin Mylene....original collage and acrylic art!  Best gift-giver ever!

Sophie and Grace got these cute animal-themed boxes.  I may mount these on their walls.

Sophie loves helping me bake.  And she has such Christmas spirit!

Grace got her first haircut yesterday.

Sophie has been wanting to make her gingerbread house for a month now.

She and I did a pretty awesome job together.

Sophie and Bodhi are besties.

The finished product!

This says it all!

Cox Farms

Has it already been a year since we last visited Cox Farms for the Fall Festival? It's amazing how the years fly by...this year, we were visited by my cousin Ashley from New Jersey, who became our nanny extraordinaire! I've said this a million times, but I have an amazing family! They constantly visit and help us out with the kids, which is the only way Darren and I are still relatively sane. Sophie had the most fun this year, even though the weather was quite dreary. Grace was docile and sedentary, so it all worked out very well for us. Thank you Ashley, for all your help this year!
