Portraits

My mom asked for a complete family portrait, so our entire clan headed to one of those studios in the mall for a session. It was not easy getting all four kids to pose at the same time, let me tell you!

While we were waiting...

They change so fast...I'm trying to capture this stage in my memory because it'll be over before we know it.

Best. Croissants. Ever.

image via Williams-Sonoma

My cousin bought me this package of frozen croissants from Williams-Sonoma after I had Grace. There were 15 in a box and I decided to bake them all at once this morning when we had some family over for breakfast. Let me tell you, they are the fluffliest, butteriest, most delectable chocolate croissants I've ever tasted (and my family agreed). Worth every penny...I will definitely be buying these again. Thanks Janique!

Sweetness

We met up with my sister's family for dinner tonight at Red Robin. It's always a great family meeting place because the loud atmosphere does a great job of drowning out your children cries :)

Here are the kiddos after dinner...I love it. They are totally in a cute stage right now.

High Tea

Does that look yum, or what? My sister Michou, my cousin Jenny, and I indulged ourselves today in honor of Jenny's big 3-0 birthday. We had massages at the Ritz and enjoyed afternoon tea. I had always wondered what high tea at the Ritz was all about and now I know. It was every bit fancy and decadent as I imagined!

I forgot my camera, but thank goodness my sister had her iphone!

I was still glowing and relaxed from my massage. Very happy, as you can see!

One Month

It's hard to believe Grace has only been part of our family for one month. This weekend was packed with activities related to this anniversary, which is so important in Vietnamese culture.

On Friday, I took her to have a well-visit with the pediatrician. Apparently, she's gaining weight like crazy...more than 20% of her body weight in two weeks! Her stats were: 22 inches long (83rd percentile) and 9lb 14oz (71st percentile).

Sunday afternoon, we held a family luncheon at Wildfire restaurant to celebrate her one-month birthday. As always, it was great seeing most of my family again. The food was terrific and the atmosphere was very nice. Grace received a lot of beautiful gifts and money for her college fund from our generous guests. One day, she'll realize how lucky she is to have such a loving and supportive family....Thank you, everyone (because I know the ones that matter read this blog!).

Gracie's crossed eyes = working on something in her diaper, no doubt!

Sophie is really a ham these days.

This is one photogenic family. Nice smiles!

Seriously, doesn't my aunt look sooo young? She has a college-aged kid!

One of Sophie's best babysitters, my cousin Aimee.

Some of my closest and bestest cousins.

This pose has left me at a loss for words.

A Phamily Party to Remember

We had a small family get-together tonight, to bid farewell to one of my cousins and best friend, Jenny. She's going to start a new exciting life over in Southern California and we boring old married people are going to live vicariously through her. As usual for our parties, there was a lot of good food, family, and fun! Bye Jenny...we'll miss you a lot.

This is Jenny...possibly the best aunt in the world.

My English Rose

English Rose: A very pretty girl who tends to wear little or no makeup, has pale rosy cheeks, natural brown hair and is well-spoken and ladylike.

My little English Rose has been plagued with baby acne...although I know it's temporary, it's so distressing....

Young Me/Now Me

I am just in awe of the creativity of people sometimes. I ran across a great blog, Young Me/Now Me which compiles pictures from people attempting to recreate their childhood photos. The idea is just adorable...and many of these pictures are downright hilarious.

And here's one that my sister and I should recreate one day!
