I've spent a ridiculous amount of money on herbs in my short time as a cook. Often, a recipe will only call for bit amounts of basil or chives and I end up throwing away most of the herbs I buy. And organic herbs are even more expensive and painful to waste.
Well, I've decided to join everybody and their mother and plant my own herbs. That way, they're always fresh and ready when I need them.
Being black-thumbed, I was doubtful in my ability to even grow herbs. But happily, I was surprised by the little seedlings that sprouted up the other day.
I used organic potting soil, so here I have the beginnings of my own organic herb garden! If this works out, I'm going to expand my repertoire and grow other organic vegetables next year.

if you take that basil and the tomatoes from Lake Anne and any old ball of mozzarella you would have one of my summer time staples. BTW, nice work with the D-40.
