Fun on the cheap

Lately, when I'm home with Sophie I am so tired from doing chores, cleaning and running errands that all she does all day is follow me around the house or watch TV. I felt so guilty about it that I decided that at least once a week during one of our weekdays together we're going to do something fun for her. But when Washington weather is this hot and oppressive, our options are limited. What's a mom to do?

Well, today we went to the mall, where we had lunch together, ran around the play area, and then played on computers at no risk of destroying our own machines.

On the short 1 minute ride to the mall (yes, I live that close)

Sophie's going through a Jackie O. phase, where she needs to have her sunglasses on in public...

...even indoors, and while eating fruit leathers

Lunch at Chik-fil-A, hopefully the least poisonous of the fast food chains

This is what we pass off as exercise

I love the Apple store...they're so cool with babies playing on their Macs

Seriously concentrating on a very complicated Dr. Seuss program. Do not disturb.

  1. Sophie's adorable. It also seems like she's becoming braver and more active each day. Looks like she had fun!
